Odin Contreras is a Los Angeles based Mexican director and cinematographer whose work explores the human consciousness through a Sci-Fi and Queer lens. Born in Sonora, Mexico and raised in Texarkana, Texas, Odin’s storytelling is defined by a commitment to political, social, and environmental themes, crafting visually immersive narratives that challenge and inspire.
From attending San Bernardino Valley College to completing his BA in Film, Television, and Digital Media from UCLA School of Theater, Film, and Television, he values education as a way to organize communities together to better society as a whole.
His recent directorial projects, demonstrate his ability to lead large crew, manage complex productions, and show his unique voice as an artist. As a Director of Photography, he has a keen eye for visual language, seeking out inspiration through the art of painting with light within digital and film formats. Odin is a firm believer that the most effective storytelling balances technical mastery with genuine human connection, using it to reflect the state of our society.
